It has been acknowledged by everyone GS project areas have witnessed ground water increase. This is due to massive network of water harvesting structures, massive plantation and substantial watershed development activities. Recent study conducted by the organization has found that GS ponds and check dams being of relatively bigger size improve ground water from 4-5 kilometers on both sides of the structure. This is revolutionary finding. Obviously this has resulted in large numbers of open dug wells, resulting in agriculture development through these wells. However, during the reporting year, GS was directly involved in the development of 10 open dug wells / recharging wells / wells deepening, in the project area.
